Dorisol Pousada dos Vinháticos
Surrounded by Unesco-protected laurel trees, this cosy granite lodge sits more than 2,000 feet (660 metres) above sea level, with far-reaching views over the mountains and valley of Serra de Água. Originally a simple stop on the hiking trail, it now has 21 rooms and an excellent regional kitchen.
