The Algonquin Hotel
This place opened in 1902, making it the oldest continually operating hotel in NYC. It is also legendary for being the setting of Dorothy Parker’s gossipy Round Table and home to celebrated lobby cats. For such a famous hotel surrounded by Times Square, it’s surprisingly quiet and low key.
